Video Transcript
As a clinician, you can easily share your knowledge and experience with your organization by completing your Skills Checklist self-assessment.
In this video, we’ll review how to complete a self-assessment.
Start by logging into your Medbridge account. At the top of the page, you will see any Skills Checklists that have been assigned to you. The skills checklist panel will show you the skill group, the due date, how many total skills are included in the checklist, and the percent of the assignment completed.
To start the self assessment, hover over the Skills Checklist panel and click Start Self-Assessment. At the top of the page, you will see the name of the skills group, the number of skills in the assessment, and directions on how to proceed through the self-assessment.
Each section of the self-assessment will show you the skill category and the individual skills underneath. If available, you can view additional details about each skill by using the dropdown arrows on the left. If you need to stop your assessment at any point, use the return to dashboard arrow in the upper left. Your progress will be saved and you can resume your self-assessment right where you left off.
Work through your self-assessment by indicating if you are experienced and able to perform each skill in the checklist. Once you have completed the assessment, click on the submit button in the upper right. Note that if the submit button is still greyed out, you have not completed assessing all the skills in the checklist. Review the self-assessment for any items you may have missed. Once you’ve reviewed all items, the button will turn blue, and you can submit your assessment.
Once the assessment is submitted, you will be brought back to your Medbridge dashboard. From here, you can track your checklist progress at a glance. The Checklist card will always show how many skills you’ve completed, how many are left to complete, and your checklist due date.
To get more information on your progress, hover over the skills checklist panel and click View Checklist. At the top of the page, you can get a summary of your progress, including what percentage of skills you’ve completed, and when your checklist is due
As you scroll through your checklist, you can see any evaluations your preceptors have completed along with any notes they may have left. Many skills will also have attached resources, provided by Medbridge or uploaded by your organization. You can review these resources at any time to advance your knowledge or get a quick refresher before an evaluation.
