Video Transcript
In this video, we’ll review how to create a patient, allowing providers to easily track patient progress.
Start by navigating to the Home Exercise Programs page, and choose Create a New Patient.
From here, fill in the patient’s birth date and contact information... and check the box indicating the patient has authorized receiving communications about their home program.
Next, select the patient’s primary clinician.
You may have the option of allowing the patient to send their primary provider secure messages using our HIPAA-compliant messaging portal. In this case, the provider will receive an email alerting them to each new message.
You may also be able to give patients the option to rate exercises on pain and difficulty. When patients use this feature, the provider can review valuable information about their patient’s adherence and experience with the program, empowering them to have a more effective plan of care.
Administrators have the flexibility of enabling or disabling the messaging and pain & difficulty rating features. So if you don’t see these check boxes, reach out to your HEP administrator for more information.
When you’re done, click Add New Patient.
Once a patient profile has been created, providers can assign a home program by navigating to the Patients tab, searching for the Patient by first or last name, clicking on their name, and choosing Build Program.
Once the clinician has shared a program with their patient, they will be able to view a history of assignments on the patient’s page. They can also track the patient’s adherence on this page, and see the patient’s pain and difficulty ratings.
Thanks for watching our demonstration on how to create a patient.
