With MedBridge, you have access to thousands of exercises and educational resources across multiple disciplines and specialties. Let’s take a look at how to build a perfect program for your patients.
To build a program, you’ll first need to create a patient. Once your patient is created, you can build a program by navigating to their patient profile. From the patient list, search or use filters to find your patient. Then, select their name to be taken to their profile.
From the patient profile, you can gain valuable insight into your patient’s progress. We’ll learn more about that in a future video. For now, let’s build your patient's first program. Select Build Program to get started.
To find an exercise in the HEP Builder, start by searching for it by name. You can sort your results by most recent, most sent, and more. When you’ve found the right exercise, add it to the program by dragging and dropping or clicking the “add” button. Once you’ve added an exercise to a program, we’ll recommend other exercises that are commonly assigned together at the top of the screen.
Continue adding exercises until you’ve built the perfect program. If you’re not finding your exercise via search, try using the filters on the left side to sort by speciality, body region, and more. Remember that you can always update a patient’s program in the future, so we recommend you limit the program to 3-5 exercises. By keeping a patient’s program short, it feels more manageable for them and encourages compliance.
If there are exercises you frequently use, you can favorite them at any time. Favorited exercises appear under the Favorite Exercises menu on the left side of the screen.
You can also customize any exercise you add to a program. From the program panel on the right, you can adjust the number of sets and reps you’d like your patient to perform.
Select any exercise name for additional customization options. You can change the name to something that’s easier for you or your patient to remember. You can watch the video to make sure it’s right for your patient. You can mirror the exercise so it’s easier for your patient to replicate. You can also add a bilateral exercise by checking the add bilateral exercise box. And if you scroll down the page, you can edit the description or add a custom note for your patient. Select “Save” to be taken back to your program.
In addition to exercises, you can add Patient Education to your program. These resources can help your patients better understand their condition so they can get better faster. To add education, select the Patient Education tab. You can search, filter, and sort this library just like the exercise library.
Once you’ve perfected the program, you can share it with your patient via email or text. Select your sharing method and you’ll be prompted to enter in a few episode details, and then your program will be saved. You can also save a program without sharing it if you’re not ready to send it yet, or save it as a template if this is a program you’ll use in the future.
You’re now ready to build an engaging program for your patients. Check out the Help Center to learn more about how you can use the Home Exercise Program.
