As a Student, your assigned Skills program includes tasks designed to help you prepare for and participate in skill evaluations with your Preceptor. You’ll begin by completing a Self-Assessment survey for each checklist, review any assigned learning resources, and later view feedback once your Preceptor has evaluated your skills.
This article explains how to complete your Self-Assessment survey, review any assigned Resources, and understand how your progress is tracked throughout the process.

Understanding Skill Reviews
- You cannot mark your own skills complete. All evaluations are done by your Preceptor and will be visible once submitted.
- Your organization will decide the order to follow to complete your program, like if Preceptors will review you before or after you complete your self-assessment and assigned resources. Your resource completion is tracked automatically.
- Your skill status (e.g., Completed, Remediation Needed) will be updated automatically when your Preceptor submits their review.
Complete Your Self-Assessment
- Inside your assigned program, locate a checklist.
- Go to the Self-Assessment survey and select Start to begin. Self-Assessment surveys are the first item in each checklist.
- For each skill, rate your current level of confidence or experience.
- Submit your self-assessment when finished.
You may need to complete more than one self-assessment if your program includes multiple checklists. These self-assessment results will be visible in your transcript and to Preceptors, helping them plan for your training appropriately.
Complete Assigned Training Resources
As you go through your checklists, you may find that resources have been assigned. If the resources are marked as Required by the Admin who built the program, please note these are not used to determine the completion bar on your checklist. They’re instead added to help support your understanding.
- Locate any linked training materials under each skill listed in your checklist.
- Select Start next to the resource title to open it. Once completed, this button will update to Retake.
- Complete the resource as instructed (this may be a Medbridge course, video, PDF, or other material).
After completion, return to your Skills program to continue your progress.
