Admins can configure notifications for each Skills program in the Notifications tab, allowing key stakeholders to stay informed about checklist completions. Collaborators, such as Managers, can receive real-time alerts or summary reports about specific Skills programs.
This article walks through how to add collaborators and manage the notification settings. Please note that only users with the Admin role can configure notifications, including adding Collaborators.
Navigating to the Notifications Tab
- In your Medbridge account, select My Practice, then Education Management.
- Select Skills to view your created Skills programs.
- To open the Notifications tab, you can choose to select the program you want to update and then select the Notifications tab. Alternatively, you can select the three dot menu button beside the program and select Manage notifications.
- You should see two options here: User notification and Collaborator notification.
Add and Remove Collaborators
If there are Medbridge users at your organization who want to keep an eye on Skills program progress, adding them as a Collaborator can ensure they receive notifications. This is common for users with the Manager role.
Note that Collaborators do not need to be assigned to the program as a Student or Preceptor to receive updates but they must already have a Medbridge account within your organization.
- In the Collaborator notification area, select the Add button.
- While whoever created the program will automatically be a Collaborator, you can add additional Collaborators here. Search for a user by name to add them as a Collaborator.
- Click their name to add them. Repeat to add multiple users.
- Selected users will be displayed with a small X next to their name. You can remove any Collaborators (except for the program creator) by selecting their names here.
- Select the notification type that Collaborators should receive.
- Save your changes by selecting Save Notification. You may return to this tab at any time to edit, remove, or update preferences.
Tip: Collaborators are often Managers who need visibility into checklist progress and would benefit from notifications.
Collaborator Notification Types
For each collaborator, you can select from two notification options:
- Completion notifications: sends a real-time email each time a user completes the Skills program.
- Completion reports: sends a summary report of completion on a specific day or on a regular cadence of daily or weekly.
Set User Notifications
Students assigned to a Skills program that has not yet been completed will receive a reminder notification based on the timeframe set by the Admin (such as a certain number of days, weeks, or months before or after the due date).
