Medbridge is designed to integrate seamlessly with Epic Showroom, simplifying workflows for providers at the point of care while also improving the patient experience and your organization’s bottom line.
Sometimes, if providers have been using Pathways outside of their Epic Direct integration (such as during an early pilot program), they may find the patient record already exists in Epic. It can be beneficial to reconcile the patient records through your Epic Direct integration so that the record in Epic correctly links to the patient in Pathways. Failing to do so will create a new patient record within Pathways and orphan the previously created record.
Reconciling Patient Records
- Navigate to the patient record in Epic.
- Launch Medbridge Pathways.
- If a record fully matching the patient's first and last name and DOB already exists, you will have the opportunity to link the Epic patient record to the existing Pathways patient record. Select Link patient to proceed.
If multiple records exist matching this information (such as two patients that happen to share the same name and DOB or multiple Pathway records having been created in error), you can choose which record to link the Epic patient record to. Select Link selected patient to proceed. - If you agree to permanently link the two records, select Confirm. Otherwise, select Cancel to return to the linking page.
- If none of the presented profiles are correct matches for your patient, you can select Create new patient to create a new Pathways profile that will be linked to the Epic patient record.
