Medbridge makes it easy to provide patients with access to a home program. By assigning exercise and education videos to your patients, they have a reference they can use at home to help them through their recovery. And when patients access their program through Medbridge GO, your patient has a lifeline to their therapy team, enabling them to provide feedback on their program or ask questions through messaging.*
Let’s take a look at the Medbridge GO experience so you can help your patients navigate the platform.
* Note: Patient feedback and messaging must be turned on for your organization and for each patient. To see if you have access to this feature, contact your Medbridge administrator or Medbridge Account Manager.
Table of Contents:
App Download and Login
To get started, your patient will need to download the Medbridge GO app. Have your patient search for “Medbridge GO” in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
To login your patient will need the following:
- Access Code
- First and Last Name (as listed in Medbridge)*
- Date of Birth
- Email Address
Have your patient follow the prompts in the app to enter in the information above. They will then be prompted to create a username and password.
Tip: To make things easy for your patient, encourage them to use their email as their username and enable sign in with a PIN, fingerprint, or FaceID.
* Note: if your patient does not enter their name exactly as it is entered in your Medbridge account, they may not be able to access their program. For example, if your patient is listed as “Matthew” in your records but they enter “Matt” when setting up their account, they will not be able to access their program. If your patient has difficulty logging in, be sure to check they are entering in their name as it is listed in your system. Don’t worry, this will only be an issue when they first log in to Medbridge!
Home Page
Once logged in, your patient will land on the Medbridge GO home page. They can quickly and easily start their exercise program from this page by tapping the GO button.
You can walk your patient through the following process to get them started
- Tap the GO button to start your exercise playlist
- Deselect any exercises you do not wish to complete at this time
- Tap “Start Exercise Videos” and your exercises will begin playing. You’ll be guided through each step, rep, and hold as prescribed by your care team.
- Once you complete your activity, you'll be asked to confirm what activity you completed so your care team has an accurate record of your progress.
When your patient reviews their program from the GO button, their activity is automatically logged. They can also manually log today’s activity or a previous days' activity by tapping the “Log Activity” button.
Logging Activity
If your patient does not need to follow along with their program, they can also log activity by tapping the “Log Activity” button from the home page.
You can walk your patient through the process by following the steps below:
- Tap on the Log Activity button. Your patient will be presented with a list of their assigned exercises.
- By default, the activity date will be set to today. Tap the date at the top of the page to log activity from a previous day.
- Deselect any exercises that were not completed, then tap “Log Session.”
- You may be asked to provide feedback on any pain or difficulty experienced while performing these exercises.
Note: At this time patients are not able to delete logged activity. If your patient logged activity by mistake or made an error in their activity logging, ask them to let you know so you can adapt your treatment appropriately.
Sending Provider Feedback
If you and your organization have enabled patient feedback, your patient will be prompted to provide information about pain and difficulty after completing an exercise session or logging an activity. Your patient can opt out of providing this feedback each time they log activity, so if this is information you would like to receive, it’s best practice to reinforce that with the patient while they are in the clinic.
If your patient decides to provide feedback they will be guided through the following prompts:
- “Did we get it right?” This question is to confirm if Medbridge accurately recorded the activity that was completed. Your patient can modify the number of sets and reps that were completed, if necessary.
- “Did you experience any pain with your exercises today?” Your patient can check the box next to any exercises they experienced pain with. They will then be prompted to rate their pain from 1-10.
- “Were any exercises too easy or too difficult?” Your patient can check the box next to any exercises they felt were too easy or too difficult.
- Your patient will then be asked to rate pain for each exercise they selected from 1-10.
- Your patient will then be asked to rate the difficulty for each exercise from 1-5, with 1 being too easy and 5 being too difficult.
- Upon completion of these prompts the patient will receive a “High Five!” confirmation screen indicating this information has been shared with their provider.
